I started my weight loss journey in December 2009 when I decided I wanted to live as long as possible for my 2 wonderful children.  They mean more to me than anything in the whole world. So, I went to the doctor to find out about Lap-Band Surgery. My doctor thought it was a very good idea and to start weight watchers immediately. I had a hard time with weight watchers because I could technically eat whatever I wanted…. That didn’t work for me. I need more boundaries. I also started watching movies like Food Inc., The Beautiful Truth, and Super Size Me. I was already worried about what I was eating but these movies intensified it. It is hard having a family that is suffering from Cancer. Every time you put something in your mouth you think, are the hormones or corn syrup in this going to kill me? So between December and March I lost 40 lbs. Then on March 4th I had Lap Band surgery. I lost 20lbs the first week after surgery, but then nothing.
About 3 weeks ago something in me changed. Maybe lap band didn’t do anything for me, but I can. I started exercising EVERY day. Started eating only whole foods. Very low protein and lots of veggies. I feel sooo good. I don’t remember feeling this good in a LONG time! I will be posting low calorie recipes, so keep checking!
I feel very excited about my 75lb weight loss. I would love to help anyone with their own weight loss journey. I am looking forward to inspiring and to be inspired by some new friends, or even old friends through this journey. Would anyone like to join me?
On Saturday July 17, I am starting a walking program called Walk For Your Life. We are meeting at Lake Murray at 10am. It isn’t just going to be walking. We do creative walking. We would LOVE to see families come out and get healthy together. Come alone, or with any age friend and any weight…. We will accommodate all levels of walking ability. I hope to see LOTS of people. I will keep you notified as to where we will be walking every Saturday. If anyone would like to exercise with me any other day of the week let me know.
